One of the hottest new names in electronic music right now, Martin Badder has released on highly respected labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Repopulate Mars, Renaissance, Nervous Records, Strictly Rhythm, Toolroom, DFTD and more. For his debut release as part of the Jack Said What family, Badder has teamed up with pal MARIA to produce a street-real anthem for these times.

Over an old skool breakbeat, vocalist MARIA begins to drop bars about the dualities of inner city life. The track becomes more and more anthemic as it progresses, sitting somewhere between Little Simz and The Streets in its depiction of urban existence. MARIA doesn’t hold back with her rhymes — so understandably the label asked for a shorter, clean edit for radio play as part of the package. It’s old skool but it’s new skool.

‘No Two Ways About It’ is the first release on Out Yer Box, the sister label to Jack Said What. The new label has been launched to cater for non-4/4 material, whether it be ambient, trip-hop, breakbeat, guitar-driven or whatever. Out Yer Box tracks may not be in your rekordbox to play on the nightclub dancefloor, but the music is still well worth a listen in its varying shades and hues.
