Guitar music and electronic music generally orbit completely different worlds. One is often the chief provider of melody and rhythm for bands or solo acoustic singers, while the other — with its infinite sonic possibilities — has tended to avoid guitars on the whole, seeing them as a hangover from rock & roll.
And then there’s Scott Booth. Scott is unique in that he uses his guitar to make electronic music.
Through a combination of strumming and finger-picking his guitar strings, creating percussion by using his guitar like a tabla drum, and triggering dynamic FX by looping everything into abstraction with a series of pedals, he makes music that’s like nothing else out there. He really has to be seen to be believed.
No loops, no backing tracks.
Scott Booth spins a web of complex rhythmic guitar percussion laid over pulsating Balearic house melodies. He defies all expectations of what an acoustic guitarist can do; combining live acoustic guitar with electronic dance music. You won’t have seen anything like this before.
Scott’s instrumental track ‘The Rose’ received world-wide viral attention gaining over 1 million hits online!
His live performances include Glastonbury Music Festival, as well as private performances for clients including the cast of Game of Thrones, Guy Ritchie, The Spencer Family, Keira Knightley, Jaguar/Landrover, Rolex, The Bahrain Royal Family and many more.
Lately, this one-man travelling wilbury has taken to the road. Literally. Buying a motorhome and kitting it out with a full recording studio and living quarters, he’s been driving to beautiful parts of the UK countryside, parking up, and seeking inspiration. On his travels he’ll be creating a series of short films documenting his newfound creative muse, giving his artistic journey added meaning through social media as each release and live show develops.
